In support of the Marion County Public Health Department’s mission to promote physical, mental, and environmental health and to prevent injury, disability and disease, we offer free presentations and other related educational activities for youth and adult audiences. These educational programs are available to schools (preschool to college), youth-serving agencies, faith-based institutions and other community organizations.
While the primary purpose of this website is to promote gun safety and responsible gun ownership, our professional staff members are available to cover a wide variety of other topics to promote healthy living, healthy home environments and healthy neighborhoods. Our Health Education, Promotion and Training Department includes a team of health educators and two coordinators who specialize in health education and violence prevention respectively.
